In the context of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), human development is defined as “the process of enlarging people’s choices” and “the range of things they can do and be in life.” This includes improving access to education, healthcare, employment, and other basic needs, as well as promoting political and social freedoms.
Human development also recognizes the importance of sustainability and long-term planning for the future. This involves promoting economic growth and development that is equitable and environmentally sustainable, so that future generations can continue to enjoy a high quality of life.
At Ataleeq Foundation, we recognize the importance of human development in the context of our Fun4Learn Program.
Our program is designed to support children’s holistic development by providing age-appropriate activities and resources that stimulate physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth. For example, our program includes play-based learning activities that promote physical development and gross motor skills, as well as cognitive activities that support language and literacy development, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
